Per the request of Marcos Palacios, Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, the family of Jancarlo “JC” Mendiola has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.
“JC” was born in Pueblo Viejo Xicatlacota, Morelos, Mexico on 20 April 1986 and entered into Eternal Rest on 01 September 2020.
“JC” was enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1986. His MOS was 0311, Rifleman, and 0913, Marine Combat Instructor. He would spend the next ten years serving his county in different capacities. He was a MARCOR Combat Marksmanship Coach, Formal School Instructor, Marine Corps Combat Instructor, and Infantry Squad Leader. “JC” participated in Iraqi Freedom, Caring Response in Burma, and Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). He was deployed five times during his service, which included combat deployments to Ramadi, Iraq, and Marjah, Afghanistan. He served as a squad leader with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines.
His many awards/citations included the Iraq Campaign Medal, Letter of Appreciation, Navy Unit Commendation, Combat Action Ribbon (Afghanistan), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (Classified), NATO Medal-ISAF Afghanistan, National Defense Service, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon (Iraq), Good Conduct Medal Awards and many other awards. His last duty assignment was with Advance Infantry Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton. “JC” was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant (E-6) in 2015.
After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, “JC” trained with ACADEMI for International Development Solutions to become a contractor for the United States Department of State Diplomatic Security with the Worldwide Protection Services. In 2016 he was assigned to the U.S. Embassy Protection Detail in Kabul.
“JC” is survived by his wife RosaAna, one daughter and one son. He also leaves behind his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
