The family of John Leroy Long has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his funeral service.  We are honored to do so.

John Leroy Long was born in Glendale, California on January 26, 1928, and passed away on September 23, 2020.

He served with the US Army from 1 SEP 1950 to 15 Apr 1952.  He was stationed in Korea.  He received an Honorable Discharge and was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal, the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, and the UN Service Medal.

After John’s return to civilian life he spent his life in Sales, most recently real estate sales in and around his hometown of La Habra, CA.  He became quite an accomplished golfer and was a big fan of both the Dodgers and the Rams.  He also had a small role in the movie Gone With The Wind as a child and loved to tell that story.  John was a man of very strong faith and loved God.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Sue.  He is survived by his children, Cindy, Mike, Judy and Charlie.  He leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
