The California Highway Patrol and the family of California Highway Patrol Traffic Officer Andy Ornelas invite the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their loved one's funeral services. We are honored to accept this invitation.

Traffic Officer Andy Ornelas, 27 years old, was a four year veteran of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and served the Antelope Valley area.  Andy followed in the footsteps of his mother, a retired CHP officer from the same Antelope Valley office, his father, a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) motorcycle officer, and his uncle, retired CHP Captain.

On 23 NOV 20, at approximately 1905 hours, Officer Ornelas was on patrol, riding his departmental motorcycle in Palmdale, he was hit by a driver making an illegal turn and later he succumbed to injuries sustained in that traffic collision.

Officer Ornelas is survived by his wife Taylor; mother Kellie, retired CHP officer; father Arturo, LAPD motor officer; brother, Cody, CHP officer; sister, Nikki and uncle, Andreas Ornelas, retired CHP Captain.

Note: This notice is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Law Enforcement Officer. For those interested all PGR members are welcome. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
