The family of Louis Joseph Canedo has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Louis proudly served his country in the US Army and was a member of our Greatest Generation that fought in WWII. Louis served from Sept 20, 1944 to Nov 17, 1950. He was a medic in Okinawa. He was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Asiatic Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Bronze Star for rescuing wounded soldiers behind enemy lines at Hacksaw Ridge. The Presidential Citation for bravery in some of the ferrous battles in the Pacific Campaign. Louis achieved the rank of TSgt prior to his honorable discharge.
In his civilian life after the military, Louis was a Teacher in San Diego, and a Chemist. Louis was proud of his military service and enjoyed spending time with family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Paula, brother; Joseph and sisters; Margarita and Lupita. He is survived by his wife; Ofelia M. Canedo, son; Louis A Canedo and his daughter-in-law; Judy Canedo, grandson; Louis J. Canedo, granddaughter; Danielle Canedo and Great Granddaughter; Alexis Canedo.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
