The family of SSgt Fredrick Kimm Stillions has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.
Fredrick served in Vietnam as an Military Police Officer during his US Marine Corps services from 1 Jan 1967 to 3 Sept 1969. After his service, he began college and in 1975, and, with his family growing, he joined the US National Guard and served until 2007. As a National Guardsman, he responded as part of the Army to many conflicts, including local riots. He became the Los Alamitos Rifle Range instructor and an MP during his National Guard service. Fredrick was deployed in 2002 to Afghanistan, where he was in charge of the armory and also served as an MP. In 1993, he was chosen Soldier of the Year representing California through the National Guard. It was quite a celebration. While in the USMC, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. While serving in the USA/National Guard, he earned the Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/M Device, Army Service Ribbon, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
During his National Guard service, he worked for the State of California and many other companies as a consultant. He went on to serve at Ontario Police Department and Huntington Park Police Department for 30 years as a Police Officer. He retired from the Huntington Park PD in 2007 after his last deployment to the Afghan War. He was always working on inventions and held two patents. He loved helping his children and grandchildren with their science projects. He enjoyed country music and spending time with family and friends, coaching and watching soccer games, and was a lifetime Dodger fan. He is survived by his wife, Bernice (Bernie), son Timothy (Kristen); daughter Amy Burchell (Matt), his sister Janice Stillions, and five grandchildren: Cassie, Berlyn, Max, Olivia and Stella.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the chapel to the cemetery, approx 4 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
