SSgt David Charles Veitch, 65, USAF - Riverside - 13 Nov
« on: November 09, 2021, 05:17:00 PM »
The family of David Charles Veitch has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor this Hero for his service to our country and service as a Paramedic in the State of California. It is our privilege to do so.

David enlisted in the USAF Reserves in May 1975 and was honorably discharged on May 1985 at the rank of SSgt. David served as a pararescue but did not serve in any wars.  Pararescues are specialists who rescue and medically treat downed military personnel all over the world when called upon.

After his discharge, David worked as paramedic in San Bernardino, Riverside and Alameda County for many years.  He was also was a swim coach, hair dresser and later taught as an instructor for the SF Paramedic Association.  David was utilized during the Mt. St. Helens volcano eruption and the destructive aftermath.

David’s hobbies were camping and off-roading.

David is survived by his wife Cecelia; children David, Elizabeth, and Sarah; and one grandchild.  He is also survived by his sister, Vickie.  His brother, Jon, preceded him in death.
