SHORT NOTICE!!!

We have been invited by the family Kenneth Ferrell Boyd, 93, to attend the military honors of their loved one.  It will be our honor to do so.

Kenneth was born on June 13, 1928 to Rev. Elijah Ferrell Boyd and Lillie Mae Lockhart Boyd in Davenport, Virginia and passed on December 3, 2021 in the presence of his loving family.

Kenneth started working hard at a young age in the lumber mills and coal mines alongside his father until he joined the army in 1948 at the age of 19. He then went on to be stationed in many places such as Hawaii, Korea, and his personal favorite-Germany. Kenneth served active duty during the Korean War earning an Occupation Ribbon and Service medals for his work as a Combat Construction Specialist. Following his retirement from military service in 1968, Kenneth found himself in sunny California where he met his wife with whom he became step-father to seven children: two boys and five girls. They married and together had their daughter, Cathy Boyd.

After military retirement, he worked for the US Postal Service for a few years, the Desert Sun Newspaper, and worked security for several golf courses and businesses in the Palm Springs area.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Abelina, and several siblings and children.  He is survived by son, Tomas, and three daughters, Cecilia, Andrea, and Cathy.  He is also survived by five brothers: Elbert, James, Quillan, Leo, and Ronnie, and two sisters, Geraldine and Ruth, as well as 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
