The family of Robert “Bobby” Vindiola Alderete has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

Bobby was born on 30 August 1934 and entered Eternal Rest on 18 December 2021.

Bobby graduated from La Puente High School in 1952 and married Margaret Murrieta in 1956.

Bobby was in the U.S. Army from 1957, serving until 1959. Bobby was trained as an official U.S. Army Projectionist and stationed in Germany during his enlistment. At the time of his honorable discharge, Bobby was a PVT-1.

After his discharge from the military, Bobby went to work for the City of San Gabriel in 1962 as a street maintenance worker and rose to the position of Public Works Superintendent, retiring in 2000 after thirty-eight years of service.

Bobby was an avid golfer and a member of the St. Luke’s Knights of Columbus Chapter. He loved to volunteer with his wife to support their church’s fundraising activities.

Bobby is survived by his wife Margaret and brother James. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

NOTE: Please observe the latest “COVID-19” restrictions.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the church to his final resting place. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. We will meet you there for those who would rather go directly to the cemetery.

Please arrive quietly as services will be in progress.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
