The family and the Los Angeles County Fire Department have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the memorial service for fallen Firefighter Jonathan Flagler, we are honored to do so.

Jonathan Flagler died on duty while battling a house fire in Ranchos Palos Verdes after being overcome by smoke in the one-story home.

Jonathan and the firefighters from Fire Station 83 were part of an entry team when he was stricken and he called a mayday.  He was rescued by fellow firefighters before he was rushed to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he passed away.

Jonathan began his career in with the Vernon Fire Department in 2002 where he served for 19 years before the department joined with LACoFD two years ago. Jonathan leaves behind his wife, Jenny Johnson Flagler, and two sons, ages 13 and 15 and his fellow firefighters.

"Fire Fighter Flagler was a devoted husband, father, uncle, friend and hero. He was a highly respected and esteemed LACoFD firefighter who truly embodied our core values of courage, caring, commitment, community, integrity and teamwork while on- and off-the-job.  Fire Fighter Flagler will be tremendously missed by all of us -- and we will never forget him." - Los Angeles County Fire Department
