The family of SCPO Roberto Isagunda Andrade, age 95, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Senior Chief Andrade joined the US NAVY at the end of WWII in 1946. He served in both the Korean & Vietnam Wars. During the Korean War he was assigned to the minesweeper USS Mocking Bird (AMS-27) and during the Battle of Inchon, his ship became the flagship of MinDiv 31 after the first 2 minesweepers were sunk by the enemy. During the Vietnam War he was assigned to the USS Saint Paul (CA-73) and while in service was hit by enemy artillery.

Senior Chief Andrade was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars.  He retired from the Navy in 1969, and at the time of his honorable discharge had attained the Rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.

After his discharge from the US Navy, Mr. Andrade completed his Bachelors of Business Management degree, and worked until retirement at North Island Rework Facility (NARF) in Coronado, Ca.  He was active in supporting local political candidates and various causes, and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, singing karaoke, and playing tennis.

Mr. Andrade was predeceased by his wife Simplicia, in 2019. He is survived by his sons Rolfe, Jay, and Jerson Andrade, and grandsons Cameron and Brandon.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
