The family of retired Air Force SMSGT Gordon Franklin Rogers, 94, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.
Gordon was born on 12 May 1925 and entered into Eternal Rest on 12 March 2022.
Gordon enlisted in the U.S. Army Corps in 1943 and was stationed in Central Europe in WWII as an aerial gunner. He was a member of 20th Combat Wing 446th Bombardment Wing, Bungay Buckeroos 7006th bomb squadron. He served on a mission over Salzburg Austria in 1945 as a tail gunner of a B24. He was a member of the Air National Guard Rifle Team in Van Nuys. He retired after 19 years of service to his country. He earned a number medals and honors, including: USAF Distinguished Rifleman Badge, USAF Excel-In-Combat Rifleman Badge and many other citations and commendations.
He volunteered at the Henry Mayo Hospital for 10 years and won a service excellence award. He made custom embroidery and buttons in his home workshop. He was a bowler at Valencia Lanes. Gordon was also honored at the most recent Memorial Day Event at Eternal Valley. He is
survived by one son, Mr. Walter Rogers and one stepson.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
