The family of Jerry Shepherd has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero’s final farewell. We are honored to fulfill this request.
Jerry served in the US Army from 1958-1977 and was discharged at the rank of SFC E-7. While serving, he spent one tour in Vietnam. While unable to confirm his death as combat related, he did suffer from exposure to Agent Orange.
As a civilian, our hero worked for Sperry UNIVAC, working with machines made by IBM. He later owned a pizza parlor for 10 years and finally retired while working for Sears.
Jerry had a pilot’s license and loved to fly. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, metal detecting, and spending time with his two granddaughters.
Jerry is survived by his wife Doris; daughter, Michelle; son, Jerry Jr.; and two granddaughters. He is also survived by two siblings.
