On Wednesday, 25 June 2014, eight ( 8 ) American Heroes will be brought to Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518 for burial.

Four (4) of the vets will be transported by the Los Angeles County Coroner to Riverside.

These vets are:
James Orr, 79, USN, Korea
John Pettie, 79, USN
Bruce Reynolds, 68, USA, Vietnam
Jerry Heinz, 69, USN, Vietnam

Another four (4) vets will be transported to Riverside by Dignity’s Rose Hills Mortuary.

These vets are:
Garth Bryce, 75, USAF
Dallas Geiger, 83, USMC, WWII
William Otterman, 90, USA, WWII
John Reynolds, 91, USA, WWII

We will also recognize those veterans that have been brought to RNC within the past week for direct burial without final honors.

The PGR will be there to be the family for these veterans and will stand by while military honors are rendered by the California National Guard Honor Team at Riverside National Cemetery.

The group from Rose Hills is scheduled to depart from 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601 at 0900 hrs.

May the souls of these vets rest in peace beneath the green carpet of grass in a Nation they helped to keep free.

They are not alone, we are their family.

“If we cannot do him honor while he's here to hear the praise,
Then at least let's give him homage at the ending of his days,
Perhaps just a simple headline in a paper that would say,
Our Country is in mourning, for a soldier died today.”

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring these Military Veterans.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
