This will be a 2 part mission, Part 1 will be Monday, 30 JUN for accompany from San Luis Obispo to Fullerton, Part 2 will be Wednesday, 02 JUL 14 for funeral service and military honors.
 
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the command at Joint Forces Training Base at Los Alamitos, and the family to honor their Hero, SFC Raul E. Escobedo, 41.
 
SFC Raul E. Escobedo, a highly decorated soldier, served 20 years with the California Army National Guard, with deployments to Irag (OIF), and Kosovo.  He was involved in leading additional military training for his unit, HHB/40th Infantry Division, at Camp Roberts in Central California, when he passed of natural causes.
He has been posthumously promoted to the rank of Sergeant First Class.
 
Raul was known as Scooby by his brother/sisters in arms who all say what a great guy and amazing soldier and leader he was.
 
SFC Escobedo is survived by his wife Christina, also a soldier in the CANG, and 3 children.
 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his military escort from the mortuary to the cemetery. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

Weather may be quite warm, please stay hydrated and eat as that can effect your ability to withstand heat.  Also note first leg of this accompany is 144 miles, be sure your fuel capacity can handle that mileage.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
