The family of Alex Garcia has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

Alex was born on 17 July 1933 in Artesia, New Mexico, and entered Eternal Rest on 15 September 2022 at the V.A. Hospital in Loma Linda.

Alex was in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1959 during the Korean War. Alex trained as a Boatswains Mate and Gunners Mate. His duty assignment included the USS Ranger (CVA 61) and the USS Summit County (LST-1146), and he was assigned underwater demolition ops. His awards/citations included the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Ribbon with 1 star. Alex received his honorable discharge as a Gunners Mate Third Class from Receiving Station, Treasure Island, San Francisco, California.

After the military Alex would serve as a Police Officer for the State of New Mexico for eighteen plus years.

His pastimes included dancing, watching NFL football, and spending time with his family

Alex is survived by his four children Alex Jr. Patty, Mike, and Raymond. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
