The family of Mike Gonzales, 91, US Navy, RIDGECREST, October 1 1931 –, October 8 2022 has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend services for their Hero on 18 October 2022. We are honored to attend.

Mike Gonzales to those who knew him, left our temporal world on October 8 2022 at the age of 91 having served his purpose in making his difference in this life.

Born to Mary and Simon Gonzales in Solana Beach, California. Mike started his Military Career with the Navy in 1950 and he served over 23 years. He was a proud, patriotic American who dearly loved his country and our freedoms. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars as well as
being stationed in many parts of the world. He retired at the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class.

He had four loving wives, Marie, Macie, Marcella and Jan all who preceded him in death. Left to honor his memory are his five treasured grandchildren, his pride and joy. Vanessa (Brian), Stacy, Brittany (Eddie) Michael (Karen) Nicholas (Jessica) and three great grandchildren, Maxwell, Joseph Jr. and Rylah. He was also loved by his Mija Patty and her husband Mark. The Gonzales Family, The Torres Family, The Johnson Family, Faye and Tom Rupe, his military Family, his Church Family and many life long friends.

Though he never sought out recognition. Mike leaves behind a legacy of, Honor, Respect, Charity and Love.  He served hard and served proud; his nation, his comrades, his family.  It wouldn’t be right to end this without how he closed his Legion articles: “For God and Country”.  What greater purpose would there be?

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the funeral home to the church and to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
