The family of Wounded Warrior Sgt James Carey, USMC, has requested the PGR provide an accompaniment for their Hero. It will be our honor to do so.
James joined the marines when he was 20 years old. He was stationed in Japan for a year and then did a tour in Afghanistan. In July 2009, and just prior to his next deployment, he was training for Special Recon group for Navy Seals when he drowned in a pool among 40 marines. He was brought back to life but unfortunately, remains blind and is currently still in a wheelchair learning to walk.
The family is requesting an accompaniment from the VA Hospital in Los Angeles to the airport where James and family will board a plane for Phoenix.
We will be providing a flag line at the VA hospital, an accompaniment to Ontario Airport, and a flag line at the airport as our Hero and his family depart for their plane.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the VA hospital to the airport. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
