The family of Hans Mueller, 86, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the military honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.
Hans has a very interesting history. He was born in Torcha, Yugoslavia on 12/02/1937. His family fled Yugoslavia to live in Germany at the beginning of World War II and resided there until 1956 when the family immigrated to the USA and settled in New Jersey. Shortly after arriving in America, at the age of 19, Hans enlisted in the United States Air Force.
In his 27-year career in the USAF (1957-1984), he worked as the Vehicle Operations Supervisor and later as Superintendent. He loved the United States and felt a duty to fight for it. Unbeknownst to his wife, he volunteered to serve in Vietnam but before he deployed, he became a naturalized citizen. Hans retired from the George Air Force Base in 1984. He was honorably discharged as a Senior Master Sergeant.
Hans received many medals and accommodations over his career with the USAF to include the Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the AF Achievement Medal, the AF good conduct medal with one silver oak leaf cluster and two bronze oak leaf clusters, AF longevity service award ribbon with one silver oak leaf cluster, AF overseas long tour ribbon, Vietnam service medal with two bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam gallantry cross with device, and the Republic of Vietnam campaign medal along with several others
After his retirement from the Air Force, Hans went to work for Mountain High Ski Resort as the transportation supervisor until he retired again in 2015.
Hans is survived by his daughter, Heidi, and son, Greg. He also leaves behind his sister, Tina, and brother, Siegfried, and many dear friends.

1330 - Stage at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518, (Lemay Blvd, near the restrooms).
1345 - Mission briefing.
1400 - Await arrival of Hero in family vehicle and move to assigned cortège.
1430 - KSU to assigned shelter for flag line and military honors.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
