Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), a non-profit organization, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend an Honoring Ceremony for USMC SGT Dominic Esquibel, a combat wounded warrior, in Fallbrook, CA.  We are honored to do so.

HFOT will be constructing a custom home for our Hero in this community that will be adapted to his needs and will be mortgage-free.  HFOT has done this for many wounded warriors across the country.

Esquibel has always been driven by a life of service.  This guiding principle motivated him to enlist in the Marine Corps as an Infantryman to defend his country after the attack of 9/11.

Esquibel first deployed to Iraq in 2004 with 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, serving in Al Anbar Province.  After training his Marines of Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines for operations in Afghanistan, he deployed with them to that theater.  On March 25, 2011, while leading his squad in Sangin District, Helmand Province, Sergeant Esquibel stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), sustaining severe damage to this right leg, a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and injuries to his shoulder and back.  After eight years of limb salvage to his right leg and re-injuring it again in 2012, Esquibel agreed to have doctors amputate his leg below the knee.

The PGR will meet and brief at the initial staging area for the procession.  Departure time will be given at staging.  We will have police assistance during the accompaniment to the community church where our Hero will be honored for his service and sacrifice.  The general public have been notified and may line the streets to welcome him.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family to the event location. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
