It is an honor the family of Brett Harris and the Riverside Sheriff’s Department invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their loved one’s funeral services.
Deputy Harris was a proud member of the Riverside Sheriff’s Department and loved serving the Hemet community.
In the early morning hours of Friday, 12 MAY 23, Deputy Harris and his partner were responding to a call for back-up by a fellow deputy. As Deputy Harris and his partner entered an intersection their patrol vehicle collided with another vehicle. Sadly, Deputy Harris succumbed to his injuries.
In a final act of Service Above Self, it was Deputy Harris’s wish to donate his organs so that others may live. The Harris family is currently working with the hospital to ensure his wishes are honored.
Deputy Brett Harris is survived by his wife, Myreia; parents, Dave and Lynn; twin sister, Brianna, and a brother.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Law Enforcement Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery, approximately 20 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

NOTE: You do not have to be a Veteran or motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All Patriot Guard Riders are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in their car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed by the Ride Captain (R/C). Dress for motorcycle riding or casually if you are in a car (cage). For the sanctity of the mission and out of respect for the hero and family, no shorts or other inappropriate attire.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
