The PGR has been invited by the family to honor their Hero, and it is our privilege to do so.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence (Larry) Subriar, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather.  He touched the lives of many through his unwavering dedication to his family, community, and the profession of law enforcement.

Larry peacefully departed this world on June 18, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever remembered.  He was born on March 18, 1945 to parents, (now deceased) Lawrence L, and Barbara Subriar in Shafer, CA (close to Bakersfield).  Larry attended private school through high school.  He was drafted into the Army in 1964, and served as a medic to which he was honorably discharged.

He married the love of his life, Judy, and they had 55 happy years together.  In 1975, they had a daughter named Tracy - she was the apple of his eye!  As a father, Larry showered his daughter with unconditional love, guidance, and encouragement. His devotion to her well-being and happiness was evident in every aspect of their relationship.  He instilled in her the values of compassion, strength, and perseverance - shaping her into the remarkable person she is today.

Larry took immense pride in his role as a grandfather.  He cherished the time spent with his grandson, Brandon and granddaughter, Taylor - watching them grow and providing them with love and wisdom - creating lasting memories.

Larry was an active member of Eden Lutheran Church for over 45 years.  He served on several committees and ushered on Sunday mornings.

Our Hero leaves behind his wife, Judy; daughter, Tracy; son-in-law, Jim; step mother-in-law, Joyce; brother, Rick; a niece and nephew; half-brother, Ric; sister-in-law, Sharon; and many loving cousins and countless friends.

He will be missed by the many who knew and loved him.
