The family of Ronald Frederick Holcombe has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to
honor their hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Ronald attended the US Naval Academy 1963-1967. He then was assigned to the Civil Engineer
Corps 1967 – 1971. He received advanced civil engineering training and degrees at Georgia
Institute of Technology. Ronald was assigned to Vietnam and was awarded Vietnam Service
Medal with FMF combat Operations Insignia; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and National
Defense Medal. He was Honorably discharged from the Civil Engineer Corps at Port Hueneme.

Ron worked as a civil engineer, with a specialty in Soils and Foundations Engineering.  He
became a self-taught computer programmer and software author and opened his own business.
He was an avid guitar player, singer, and songwriter.  Ron founded The Blue Moose Band, which.
provided musical entertainment as a community service to nursing homes, assisted living facilities,
residential care homes, as well as other community functions.

Ron is survived by his sister, Robin Beatty; daughters Bonnie Herring and Kelly Palumbo; and two
grandchildren.

The family is requesting an accompaniment to the cemetery.

Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying our

We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to
the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle
riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of
this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Hero. Please no
talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and
engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all
who are there, not just the ones we honor.
