The family of Robert Baxter has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Robert served in the United States Navy for 23 years and 2 months. Robert was honorably discharged in 2007 at the rank of Master Chief.  Robert was a Submarine Nuclear Propulsion Plant operation specialist, and also spent time as an instructor in his field. During his time in the Navy Robert earned the Meritorious service medal, Navy/ Marine Corp Commendation Medal, Navy/ Marine Corp achievement Medal, Navy “E” Ribbon, 8 Good Conduct Medals, Navy expeditionary medal. Robert loved his time in the military and spent a majority of his time at North Island here in San Diego.

After Robert retired, he stayed in San Diego and worked civilian contract for the military. Robert leaves behind a family that he did not have a chance to be close to because of the amount of time he spent out to sea. He also leaves behind a twin brother that he was very close to.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this will be a Flag Line Only at Miramar National Cemetery, see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
