The Patriot Guard has done several missions for the troops assigned to the US Army Reserve Center in Upland.  Earlier this year they requested assistance in creating a memorial to their fallen.  One of our members responded and put in a number of hours designing and painting their memorial.

We are now invited to the dedication.

The dedication will be this Friday at 1330hrs (1:30pm) at the Norman E. Thrall US Army Reserve Center 1284 E. Seventh Street, Upland, CA http://goo.gl/maps/zZt0P

Please plan to meet us at the Reserve Center not later than 1315hrs (1:15pm) and join us for this ceremony.

I have included the invitation which gives additional information about the memorial.

Dear Patriot Guard,

I wanted to update all of you on the Major Norman E. Thrall memorial
project, in Upland, CA, that I had asked for you assistance with back in
February 2014.

I believe that you had sent an inquiry out to all of your membership and I
was told a member had a sister who had a artist in the family.

Long story short, a volunteer team of Mrs. Carolyn Thurman and her daughter
Ms. Cloie Thurman, out of Ventura, CA, stepped forward to assist our Army
Reserve Center with their talents and faithful devotion.

The reserve center now has a memorial stairwell that is reverent, somber and
mindful of our fell Fallen Heroes that were members of the units in the
building.  This memorial stairwell is the envy of any Army Reserve memorial
as I have seen very few of them myself, and they are usually only seen at
the highest of command headquarters.

I wanted to extend a huge THANK YOU to all the members of the Patriot Guard
for making our vision a volunteer driven success. The Thurman's drove out
about 10-15 times from their residence to make this memorial a reality.

Now that it is completed, I would like to invite all of your local Patriot
Guards Riders to celebrate the dedication of our tiny corner of Fallen Hero
respect.  In having worked with the Patriot Guard before, I know that you
usually ride along with a Fallen Hero from one place to another, but in this
case maybe a few, or  more than a few of you could stop by to visit.  No
real ride or escort per say, but your organization was critical to us now
enjoying this place of remembrance for us.  This memorial has made a big
difference to all of the reservist in the building.

One of our Chaplains will give a benediction, we'll say thank you to all of you in the
Patriot Guard and the Thurman family!

And again, a big THANK YOU for your help in getting us an artist from your
organization.

Very Respectfully,

Mr. Richard Flores
