NOTE-The Time Table for this mission has been changed!  See NEW Time Table below!

The family of Douglas Emery Wilson, 70, has invited the PGR to be present to honor their Hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Doug proudly served his country in the US Navy from 31 July 1962 through 31 July 1966, part of which was served gallantly fighting the Vietnam War.   For his service he received the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.   His last duty assignment was as Gunner’s Mate on the USS Bronstein (DE-1037).

In civilian life Doug had several names including Tiny and Big Willie.  He loved car racing, history and his family.

Doug was predeceased by his wife Nancy.  He is survived by sister Janice and her husband Gene, sister Joyce & her husband Earl, by his son, Douglas Wilson Jr. and 3 grand children.

The family has requested an accompaniment from Lakeside to Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery where Doug will be interred.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from a chapel service to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
