The family of Mario J. Rodriguez has requested the attendance of the Patriot Guard Riders in honoring their hero. We will proudly fulfill that request.
Mario was born on March 19, 1954. He was the 7th child born out of 13 brothers and sisters. He pretty much hit the ground running when he was born - always wanting to work on things, and to help out any and every one that needed help.
After graduating high school, Mario joined the United States Marines, and pretty much excelled in everything he did. Upon graduating from boot camp, Mario began his career with the Marine Corps and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mario served in the USMC from June 26, 1973 to June 29,1979. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6).
After Mario's time in the Marine Corps had come to an end, he quickly went to work again. This time he worked as a dairy operator. Mario did this job for 20 years and then became a dairy printer operator for another 10+ years.
In his pastime, Mario loved going to Las Vegas, the casinos, NASCAR, football and basketball. He enjoyed watching western movies, spending time with his family, and listening to music at home and in the car.
Unfortunately on March 11, 2024 Mario passed. He passed just 8 days before his 70th Birthday.
Mario is survived by his wife Linda Rodriguez, and children, Renee, Denise, Eric and Adrian. He is also survived by one grandson, Mario. He will also be missed by several siblings: Victoria, John, Margaret, Steven, Ernest, Judy, Edward, Terry, Annemarie, Elizabeth, Paul, and Robert.
"Let's give this Marine the honors he deserves."NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to the church, approximately 13 miles.
