The family of ERNEST DAVID LOSCAR, 96, SHIP FITTER THIRD CLASS PETTY OFFICER, UNITED STATES NAVY, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their HERO to from Holland and Lyons Mortuary to Desert Memorial Cemetery, Ridgecrest, CA on TUESDAY APRIL 16, 2024.  We are Honored to accompany him and his family.

Ernest David Loscar was born in July of 1927 in Franklin Township, Pennsylvania and passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 3, 2024, in Ridgecrest, CA; he was 96.  He lived a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love for his family and community.  He was married to Nancie for 48 years prior to her death in May of 2006.  He served in the Navy as a Ships Fitter, from 1945-1947.  Upon his Honorable discharge he was a Pattern Maker at Pell Engineering.  He also worked in construction as a framer and Superintendent for many local construction projects.  He worked as a Public Works Supervisor in the Jointer shop and ended his Civil Service career as a Supervisor in the Public Works Carpentry shop.

His hobbies included collecting antiques, a fellow member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.  He made miniature items for Nancie’s Miniatures Club and participated in the Kern County Mine Search and Rescue Team and was also a volunteer Fire Captain.  He and Nancie dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Clause every year for a decade, bringing joy to the kids of Ridgecrest.

He is survived by his only son, Tim Loscar and his Daughter In law, Lynn Beyer Loscar, seven grandchildren, and 6.5 great grandchildren, Joshua Loscar (Rachel), Aaron, Levi, Gideon and Enoch, Caleb Loscar, and fiancé’ Jordan Jackson, Rebekah Cooper, husband Richard and their children, Dalton and Emma and one on the way, Isaac Loscar and wife Becca, Joseph, wife Becky, Benjamin Loscar, Sarah Harper and husband Nick.

Funeral Services will be held at Holland and Lyons Mortuary, Tuesday April 16, 2024, at 10am.  Following services there will be a procession to Desert Memorial Cemetery for graveside HONORS.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the Mortuary and services to his final resting place. Please see the timetable, if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there., CA 93555.
