The family of Louis Garcia has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Louis Garcia was drafted into the United States Army in 1970 during the Vietnam War. Although he served just a short time, he was very proud of his service. He was boots on the ground as Infantry and obtained the rank of Pvt.  After his time in the military, he came back to San Diego where he helped his dad run his restaurant in Barrio Logan called “Chuey’s”. The restaurant was open for 50 years and was very much a staple in the community. They would open early for the Navy officers to hold meetings over breakfast. Even basketball great Bill Walton stopped by Chuey’s during a bike ride, he returned for several days before they even opened the restaurant, the food was that good.

Louis also did a lot of contracting work and received contractor of the year!

Louis had four children, three daughters and one son.  And a wife he adored. Louis lost his wife in June of last year. Louis suffered from Alzheimer’s for 15 years before his passing.

We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
