The family of Silver Star and Purple Heart recipient Tim Matye have asked the Patriot Guard to be with them as they say their final goodbyes to their hero and loved one.
Tim was a proud Marine who lost part of his leg while on tank patrol in Vietnam in November of 1968. After applying a tourniquet to slow the bleeding he continued to man his .50 cal machine gun providing cover for the rest of the crew until helicopter support medevac'd the wounded.
After he left the Marines, he was not slowed down and continued to serve his fellow soldiers being a source of inspiration and perseverance.

Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
