The family of Ronald Ray Laudermilk have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Ron passed away at the age of 86, from breathing & heart problems. Ron was born in 1938 in Holtville, Ca.

Ron joined the Air Force in 1956 & was honorably discharged in 1960. He worked as an airplane mechanic here in the states. He never went overseas during his 4 years of service.

Ron’s hobbies are fishing, hunting & playing pool. (I played pool against Ron in the 70’s).

Ron married the love of his life in 1962. They were married for 58 years & she passed away in 2020. They had two boys, Ray & Jerry.  Four Grandchildren & six great grandchildren.

The family is asking the Patriot Guard to escort them from the family home to Miramar National Cemetery.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, all PGR members are welcome. We will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the family home to Miramar National Cemetery, approx. 16 miles. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
