The family of Victor Narciso Cunanan, 54, have requested the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany him to his final resting place.  It is our honor and privilege to do so.

Victor who was a good friend of one of our own PGR members, Jeff Castro, served in the Army from 04/2010 to 02/2013.  Victor joined the Army late in life just prior to the age cutoff.  He felt challenged competing against the younger men but rose to the occasion.  Victor already had a family at this point but had always dreamed of serving since childhood.  He was an 11B, Infantry and passed the sniper school training.  He was assigned to Ft. Irwin where he served with Jeff.  During a training exercise, Victor was severely injured in an accident involving a tank which left him unable to continue his military career.  Victor was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Medal.

Because of his injuries, Victor was unable to pursue a civilian career.  He channeled his energies into serving his local veterans, community, and church.  He was also an avid bicycle rider and got Jeff into riding with him, making sure he had all the safety gear.

Victor is survived by his wife, Crina Cruz Cunanan, and his children:  Princess Cunanan Conners, Hannah Cruz Cunanan, Mi Cunanan, John Vincent Cunanan, and Elijah Cruz Cunanan.  He also leaves behind his sister, Elsie Icban, and one granddaughter, Yara Cunanan Conners.

NOTE:  This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church in Victorville to the Riverside National Cemetery, approximately 57 miles.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

NOTE: The weather is expected to be hot so hydrate, eat something light, and dress accordingly.
