The family of ARTHUR EUGENE COTT, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their HERO From Holland and Lyons Mortuary to Desert Memorial Cemetery, Ridgecrest, CA. We honorably accept.
Arthur Cott was born 19 May 1929, in Willard, Kansas and passed away peacefully on Saturday 6 July 2024, in Ridgecrest, CA. He was 95.
He joined the US Navy on 6 June 1946 and was stationed at Naval Ordnance Test Station (NOTS) China Lake, CA. where he met Ellen Delia Cook in 1946 and they were married in May of 1947. They raised three children, Dennis, Ken and Cheryl.
Art enjoyed hunting in the Sierra Mountains and frequently camped in Montana where he loved fishing and was a charter member of the Aqua Bonita Flyfishers. He was an expert wood worker, enjoyed coaching little league baseball, making jewelry and square dancing with Ellen.
Ellen passed away on 22 August 2006 and in 2018 he met and married Bobbie Jean Gano.
Arthur is survived by his wife Bobbie of Ridgecrest, son Dennis Cott (Karen), son Ken Cott (Christine) and daughter Cheryl Sturdy (Jack), seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Thursday 25 July at HK Holland Memorial Chapel from 5:30 – 8 pm. Graveside services and Military Honors will be held Friday 26 July at Desert Memorial Cemetery in Ridgecrest, see timetable below for details.
