The family of Florencio Banay Marzan has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Florencio joined the United States Navy in 1968 and served 20 years when he retired in 1988. Florencio was very proud of his service and knew that staying in for twenty years would offer a stable life for his family. Florencio retired as a Chief Petty Officer and was a master mechanic. He went on after retirement to work 20 years in maintenance at Camp Pendleton. During his time in the Navy he earned the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct medal (5), National Service medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Sea Service Deployment with 3 stars.
Florencio enjoyed his family very much, but he also enjoyed gardening, traveling and watching sports on TV. He is survived by his wife Amparo and his children Brian, Florizel and Terese.
Please note that there will be Motor Patrol at this mission. This is expected to be a very large procession, so those who would like to meet us at Miramar that would be fine.

This mission is an accompaniment from St. Michael's Church to Miramar National Cemetery approx. 20 miles. Please see the timetable below if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
