He was assigned to a multitude of duty stations and commands in California, North Carolina, Panama, Georgia, Virginia, Japan, and Korea. His job specialties included Motor Vehicle Operator, Motor Transport Operations Chief, Drill Instructor, and Hazardous Waste Specialist. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant (E8) in 1991, and retired from the USMC 31 January, 2000.  His awards included the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Certificate of Commendation, the Navy Unit Commendation, and Good Conduct Medal.

After Dale’s military service, he worked for the VA, and retired in 2021. His hobbies included basketball, barbecuing, and he loved to sing.

Dale is survived by his wife Arnella, sons Chip and Nicholas, daughters Danielle Armstrong and Alexis Giles, grandchildren Nevaeh, Joseph, Jacob, and Wyatt Armstrong.
