The family of Bruce Franklin Fitzpatrick has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Bruce was drafted into the US Army at the age of 20, worked as a special operations dispatch and med evac on Soc Trang airfield in Vietnam.  Was in the war on the day the TET Offensive started. Served in Vietnam then honorably discharged upon return. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Bruce loved sports, especially football.  He even played high school football and baseball and was a hometown sports hero. Frank also played for Fullerton JC then University of Hawaii.

Bruce had two sons and a daughter that he loved very much. Bruce passed in June of 2022, but the family waited until they were ready to celebrate their dad and have him laid to rest at Miramar.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military hero.  For those interested, all PGR members are welcome.  We will be accompanying the family from Cardiff to Miramar National Cemetery, approx. 14 miles.  For those who would like to participate, please see the timetable and we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the Flag Line of Honor or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
