Honor Mission & Respectful Transport for
US Army Sergeant Edward Nauss (Ret.)

San Jose CA to Yuma AZ

The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to establish a Pony Express Mission to respectfully transport the ashes of Sergeant Edward John Nauss, United States Army, from San Jose, CA to Yuma, AZ. Sergeant Nauss, a proud member of HHC, 1st Battalion, 505th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, served honorably during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.

The respectful transport will be divided into five segments, with handover points in various cities listed below.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran.  For those interested, all PGR and members of the Combat Veterans members are welcome.

After arriving at the family home, the family has invited the riders to gather at the local VFW hall. Refreshments and a popular taco truck will be available on-site.

Please remember to hydrate and ride safely.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.
