At the request of his family, the Patriot Guard Riders are invited to attend the military honors of Floyd Albert Gault.  It will be our privilege to attend.

Floyd was born in the State of Washington and lived there until he was 10 years old and moved to Lawndale, CA with his mother, brother, and two sisters.  He grew up there till the age of 18 and then joined the United States Marine Corps.  He was sent to Vietnam and earned the Vietnam Service Medal w/1 star and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/devices.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Lance Corporal (E-3).

After Floyd served his time in the Corps, he went to work for McDonald Douglas as a mill operator as well as a worked in designs and drawing schematics.  In fact, one of his drawings is on the wall of McDonald Douglas.

Music was the love of Floyd’s life.  He was a fantastic musician, especially with the guitar and piano.  He played with the Beach Boys when they were a garage band.  In addition, he played accordion, an instrument you don’t hear too about much these days.  He also enjoyed hunting and shooting.

Floyd was married for a short time after he returned home from Vietnam but ended after a few years.  He neither remarried nor did he have children.  He is survived by one sister, Dorothy, as well as nieces, Lynne, Susie, and Kathy, and nephews, Russell, Paul, and Eric.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this is a flag line only (FLO) mission at the cemetery.  For those who would like to participate, please see the timetable and we will meet you there.

"Standing For Those Who Stood For Us

Only two defining forces offered to die for you:
Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul; the other one died for your freedom.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.  Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
