The family of Robert L. Jaennette has invited the Patriot Guard to join them in honoring this American war hero. This is one of the members of the "Greatest Generation" that paved our way to freedom. It would be our honor to do so.
Since the time Robert was a little boy he loved to do two things. Read and study the history of our Country.
Roberts Dad served in WWI and Robert from the time he was a young boy tried over and over again to serve in WWII. Finally with all the tenacity this young man could muster he accomplished that and then some.
Robert read everything he could get his hands on to read. He especially loved reading the Bible and watching his Lakers. He never missed a single game, and eventually got one of his many Grandchildren hooked on watching with him.
When Robert had just barely turned 16 he was able to sneak into the National Guard. He was able to get in 6 months before he got caught and was given a Hardship Discharge so that it wouldn't look bad on his record should he ever try to join again when he was of age.
Robert when he was old enough joined the Coast Guard. He became part of the diving team for search and rescue. At 42 yrs. old he had to re-qualify for deep free diving. It was rough but he passed. He had a "Never Give Up" attitude. Just like so many young men in that day.
After the Coast Guard he joined the Air Force where he completed 4 more yrs reaching the rank of S/Sgt. with the 339th air fighter wing. He received an honorable discharge out of all the branches of service he had been a part of.
Robert served in Germany, Korea, & Alaska.
Medals include: WWII Victory Service Medal, Germany Occupational Service Medal, Berlin Airlift Service Device, Korean Service Medal.
Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 34 years Lorainne, 9 children, 21 Grandchildren, and 38 Great Grandchildren, with 1 more on the way.
Lets do our best to honor this member of the "Greatest Generation" on another day that bought us together 9/11.

For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the funeral home to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
