Master at Arms, Petty Officer 1st Class Christopher C. Yates will be honored by the Patriot Guard Riders as he is laid to rest.

MA1 Christopher Yates or "Chris", as he was known by family and friends served 19 years in the military, first in the USMC, then in the U.S. Navy.  Chris was a great man as he is described by his brothers and sisters in arms.  His specialty was military police and he served proudly including 2 deployments in Iraq.

Chris loved martial arts and was a black belt, since this was something he loved, he also loved martial arts movies, and the stars of those movies including Jackie Chan.  In fact his fellow sailors had a nickname for him which was also his call sign "Blackie Chan".

MA1 Yates is survived by his wife Karen and his daughter Angelica.

We will honor this Hero and his family at his services at the funeral chapel then we will accompany them to the cemetery where he will receive his military honors.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the funeral services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
