The family of Robert Jacobs has invited the Patriot Guard to join them in paying honors to this American Hero of the " Greatest Generation", it will be our honor to do so

After leaving high school Robert enlisted into the United States Marine Corps 15 June 1943. He attained the rank of "Corporal" and ended his enlistment with an Honorable Discharge on 2 June 1946. During Robert's time in the Marines he was stationed on Iwo Jima. Robert was one of a few Marines who survived the "Battle of Iwo Jima " and lived to tell about it.

Upon completion of his service career Robert went back to school and graduated from business trade school in New York City in 1950. One short year later the women of his dreams came into his life and they were married in 1951.

In 1980 the family moved to Calif. from New York, and lived in San Pedro Ca.  At that time Robert went to work with his brother Martin as an auto dealer manager at Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, CA. Robert retired from there in 2009.

Robert loved cooking, reading, and was an avid baseball fan. He also enjoyed Broadway music shows.
