This will be a two part mission

The Department of Defense announced today the death of an airman who was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.

 
Tech. Sgt. Anthony E. Salazar, 40, of Hermosa Beach, California, died April 13, at an air base in southwest Asia in a non-combat related incident. The incident is under investigation.

 
He was assigned to the 577th Expeditionary Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force Squadron, 1st Expeditionary Civil Engineer Group, U.S. Air Forces Central Command.


The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family to the arrival and services for TSgt Anthony E. Salazar, 40, USAF, it will be our honor to be there.
 

Salazar was a mechanical systems repairman, whose job was to ensure facility operations at an air base in the Gulf region that is supporting operations against Islamic State militants, said Col. Edward Sholtis, a spokesman for U.S. Air Forces Central Command.


Salazar was assigned to the 577th Expeditionary Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force Squadron, part of the 1st Expeditionary Civil Engineer Group and reporting to U.S. Air Forces Central Command. The unit's headquarters is at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, but Salazar's squadron is assigned elsewhere in the Gulf region, Sholtis said in an email to Air Force Times.

The PGR has been invited to attend this Hero's arrival and accompany him to the funeral home in Fullerton. 

We have also been invited to attend and accompany for his services which are TBA

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the location of arrival to the mortuary. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the mortuary, we will meet you there.

This mission involves an aircraft arrival. Arrival times can change at the last minute so please check this thread for any last minute changes before leaving

Each motorcycle rider should have registration, proof of insurance. You should also wear hard sole shoes, long pants, full-fingered gloves, a long sleeve outer garment, eye protection, and a DOT helmet. A brightly colored reflective vest is no longer needed but recommended.  Have your I.D. ready when you arrive at the gate.


You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
