The family of Marine Veteran Joseph Leighton Dow has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their hero for his service and sacrifice to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Mr. Dow proudly served from 1945 to 1949 with the US Marine Corps in the Asiatic Pacific area during WWII and the Korean War. He earned the rank of Corporal at time of discharge. His service continued with the US Army and Army National Guard until 1954.
Following military service, Joseph Dow teamed with his father in Landscape Construction in the 70's; worked as a Building Draftsman into the 80's; and owned a Tenant Improvement Construction Company.
Mr. Dow volunteered for the Sea-Land Cadets in the early 70's and the Coast Guard Auxiliary in late 70's to early 80's. He found his solitude when fulfilling his passion for Deep-Sea Fishing and Boating.
Mr. Dow is survived by his brother Ron, daughters Pamela and Cynthia, son Joseph Jr., stepson Tim, and 5 grandchildren.
Cynthia Hllywa and her husband have ridden several PGR Missions and now we have the opportunity to raise our flags for one of our own and show the honor her father has earned.

For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the funeral home to the cemetery. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission, go to the staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please ride/drive safely.
