The family of Russann R. Spotti has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend and accompany their Hero for her funeral service and military honors. We would be honored to do so.
Russann R. Spotti enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps in 1970 and was assigned to the U.S. Army hospital in Germany where she cared for the combat wounded who were sent there from Vietnam. She served for 7 years until her honorable discharge in 1977 at the rank of Captain.
After the military Rusty, as she was known to her friends, continued devoting her life to the sick and wounded as a Registered Nurse in hospitals, most recently at the VA Hospital in Loma Linda where she last held the position of Charge Nurse in the Operating Room. She was very committed to helping and serving other Veterans and did this selflessly until she became so ill she could no longer work. She had an endless amount of energy and was always eager to lend an ear to help her patients and friends, and was always very concerned about the patients she cared for.
In her personal life she loved spending time with her husband Todd, and she loved books, she was a voracious reader.
Russann is survived by her loving husband Todd, her brother Rick, her sister Randee, and extended family of co-workers at the VA Hospital.
