Per request of one of our own PGR Members (Gil Garcia) and the family of Victor William Garcia the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) have been invited to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey.

Mr. Garcia was born in Los Nietos, California in 1921 and lived there until he joined the Army. Mr. Garcia entered Eternal Rest on 17 June 2015.

Mr. Garcia proudly served his country with the U.S. Army as a Medic from July1942 to November 1945. Mr. Garcia served in the European, African, and Middle East Theaters earning several awards/citations that included a Bronze Star, Distinguish Service Medal, Victory Medal and Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged as a PFC.

After his honorable discharge from the military, Mr. Garcia was a truck driver for sixty years and worked for Container Corporation of America. One of his favorite pastimes was growing plants, being a horticulturist, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Mr. Garcia is preceded in death by his wife Anita who he was married to for seventy years before passing away in 2012.  Mr. Garcia also leaves behind his children, Ester, Jerry, Freddy, Bobby, Sally and Gil, and many grandchildren.
