The family of Ivan Kuropatkin Chapel has invited the PGR to be present at his funeral service and honor him, we will be honored to do so.

Ivan Chapel began his career as a Law Enforcement Officer after finishing school.  He saw the need to serve in Vietnam and took a 4 year hiatus from Law Enforcement to enlist in 1970 in the US Army and served in Vietnam as a Captain.  He was honorably discharged in 1974 and returned to his work here in the States as a LEO.

He eventually worked for the San Jose Police Department as a detective and retired after 30 years service.

Ivan Chapel was the kind of man who devoted his entire life to 'service'.  Service in the military and service on the home front in Law Enforcement.  The one word that his coworkers and friends and family use to describe him is "Protector".  Quote from his son: "Whether in the military or in Law Enforcement he didn't care where he was or what he was ordered to do, he cared about the man on his left and the man on his right."

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
