The family of James Randy DeMaro, 65, has invited the Patriot Guard Rides to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Randy served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.   At the time of his discharge he had attained the rank of SGT, E-4.

After the Air Force he worked in Construction. Randy had earned a Master Degree in Civil Engineering from the South Dakota School of mines and Technology. He was currently working as a Dry Cast and precast Technical Specialist for the SIKA Corporation from 2005 until the time of his death. He worked as a Dry Cast and .precast Technical Specialist for the BASF Corp. from 1996-2005 on the east coast from Quebec to South Carolina.

Randy has written, published and presented papers to the Concrete International (The Rapid Trout Sculpture using HPC), presented to the American Concrete International, Salt Lake city, Presented to the Advance Concrete Based Materials (ACBM) Symposium, Cincinnati, Ohio and Proceedings of the Second International Conference in Civil Engineering on Computer Applications Research and Practices (ICCE) “Teaching Prestressed Concrete Design Using Computer Programming.”

Randy belonged to the American Society of Civil Engineers (National member), American Concrete institute (National member), National Concrete Masonry Association- Member of the Freeze-thaw and water repellency committees. He was an avid member of the patriot guard, Harley Davidson motorcycle groups, in addition to multiple charitable organizations.

Randy received the Degussa Master Builder President Award in 2001

Surviving are his loving wife Jeri Demaro; son, Devon Demaro; step son Keith Swift and his wife Therese; step daughter Tracey Lightfoot and her husband Kevin; brothers, Richard Demaro and Christopher Demaro; sister, Toni Anderson and 3 grandchildren, Sean, Katie and Nathanial.

Randy continued to show his patriotism and support for our troops by riding PGR missions, particularly the special Memorial Day runs.  We will consider it an privilege to be present as this brother receives his final honors.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
