Due to the sincere efforts of our friends at Risher Mortuary, the family of Marine Corps Veteran Larry Don Hart has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their hero for his service and sacrifice to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Mr. Hart proudly served 2 tours in Vietnam from 1963 to 1971 with the US Marine Corps where he received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Larry earned the rank of Sergeant E-5 at time of discharge and continued by serving in the National Guard in the following years.
After receiving the essential training and passing the required tests, Larry became a Police Officer and joined the San Diego Police Dept. and concurrently the Long Beach Airport Police in serving the community for over 15 years. Sadly, he was never able to recover from watching his partner and friend killed in the line of duty resulting in his suffering from PTSD.
Larry Hart is survived by wife of 50 years Anita, sons Carlos, Larry Jr. and Ken, daughter Maria, granddaughters Brittany and Kirsten, brothers John and Jack.
