Send Off - USMC Unit #4, San Clemente, CA - 18 NOV 13

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Welcome Homes and Send Offs we have been posting are all leaving from and going to the same locations. Please do the math! When there is a W/H and S/O on the same day, It may be possible for you to pick up both groups for accompaniment if you plan correctly but we do NOT have control over flight times/delays on arrivals in the IE. We always do our best to give you as much information as possible without violating OPSEC quidelines.

The Command and FRO (Family Readiness Officer) of this Marine Unit have asked the Patriot Guard Riders to provide a Send-Off to one of their units and their brave Marines and Sailors who are deploying.  The least we can do is show these military men and women and their families that we support and appreciate what they sacrifice for us all.

We hear constantly from the commands of these units how much our showing up for these Welcome Homes and Send-Offs adds to the unit morale for their Marines.  Come help us give some small measure of thanks to these warriors who give us so much in return.  Let's bring our smiles, flags, hugs and support for these men and women as we send them off into harm's way and pray for their safe return home.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring these Heroes. For those interested, we will be accompanying these Marines to their departure location. If you would rather just join us for the Flag Line only, that is fine.  We have been invited to join them for Breakfast! Please see the time table below if you would like to participate.

We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).

Each motorcycle rider must have registration, and proof of insurance. Also necessary are, hard sole shoes, long pants, full-fingered gloves, a long sleeve outer garment, eye protection, and a DOT helmet.  A brightly colored reflective vest is no longer needed but recommended.  Please have your I.D. ready when you arrive at the gate.

Due to OPSEC (Operational Security) limitations which involve troop movements and on-base activities, exact details of this mission will be explained at the "Mission Briefing" only.
