The family of Alejandro M. (Alex) Maeda, 61 has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country and the city of Calexico, CA.  It will be our privilege to do so.
 
Alex was a fireman with the Calexico Fire Department.  He then became a police officer for Calexico Police Department and retired as a Police Sergeant.   He served with pride and honor and the community recognized his outstanding service and commitment to the community.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and treasured the many moments with his kids.

Alex loved riding motorcycles and was actively involved in the Blue Knights, California X and El Cajon HOG Motorcycle Clubs.
 
Alex is survived by his wife, Josie, one son and two daughters.   The family has asked for a short accompaniment from the church to the cemetery.
 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Police Officer. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage. Please ride/drive safely.
