The family of Francis Jerome “FJ” “Jerry”Maurice has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their loved one at his final service. We are honored to accept this invitation. Francis J. Maurice passed away at his home in Ridgecrest, California, Dec 14th 2016 at the age of 72.
Jerry was a proud US Army Vietnam Veteran, serving from Oct 1965-Apr 1976 as a helicopter crew chief and instructor. He received the Air Medal for over 25 aerial combat missions and a second one for voluntarily recovering downed pilots in a hostile combat zone.
Born Mar 21 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from Cerro Coso Community College with an Associate’s Degree. Served 20 years of civil service as a QA Assurance specialist to several missile, bomb, and aircraft projects at Naval Weapon’s Center, China Lake, CA.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Jane, daughter Natalie and numerous brothers and sisters and family members.
Jerry loved his guns and classic cars, and working on his off road toy “Manx”. Jerry and Jane loved the outdoors and riding his off road “Manx” to investigate new trails.
Services will be held @ 1300 Friday, December 23rd at the All Faith Chapel at NAWS. Father Dowds will be officiated. Family and friends are invited to for a reception following the service in the East Wing.
Following the reception there will be an accompany from Chapel to the Ridgecrest Desert Memorial Park for Full Military Honors.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

Each motorcycle rider should have registration, proof of insurance. You should also wear hard sole shoes, long pants, full-fingered gloves, a long sleeve outer garment, eye protection, and a DOT helmet. A brightly colored reflective vest is no longer needed but recommended. Have your I.D. ready when you arrive at the gate. You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
